The Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas at Dallas is a research institute for brain health, injury and disease.
The lobby of this imposing facility is beautifully adorned by terrazzo flooring and a stately terrazzo staircase provided by Andreola Terrazzo & Restoration.
The floor of the oval-shaped lobby features an intricate four-color design. Because the lobby is surrounded by windows, great care was taken to ensure the floor was perfectly level to eliminate any possibility of the appearance of “waves” from sunlight streaming in.
The staircase was carefully crafted with multiple precast pieces for the treads, risers, stringers, and small side pieces on the outside of the stringers.
